About Mother India Cuisine

Located at 1778 Mitchell Rd, Ceres, CA 95307, Mother India Cuisine operates as an indian restaurant serving Ceres in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Ceres, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 9 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Mother India Cuisine at (209) 566-8020; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 432 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Ceres is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Ceres follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. My family and I usually dine at Masala Magic, but we decided to give Mother India a try. We arrived at 4:15 p.m. and sat waiting until 4:25 p.m. before we had to call the woman at the front counter over just to take our order. When I asked for her recommendation, she admitted she didn't even know the menu. We ordered the fish pakora and two mango lassis. Our appetizer finally arrived at 4:40 p.m., and we finished it by 5:00 p.m. We then waited until 5:15 p.m. for someone to come take our entrΓ©e order. No one ever came. We even had to walk to the front ourselves just to ask for glasses of water. Despite waiting another 25 minutes, no one checked on us, took our entrΓ©e order, or acknowledged that we were still there. At 5:40 p.m., after wasting nearly an hour and a half, we got up and left without ever being served dinner. We went to Masala Magic instead, where we actually received service. The biggest issues were: No server ever checked on our table. We had to flag someone down just to place our initial order, and she wasn't familiar with the menu. We were never given the opportunity to order our entrΓ©es an

We ordered vegetarian curries along with Tandoori roti and Lachedaar parantha. The food was hot and tasty. The Dal Makhani had authentic flavours. The service staff was also polite and courteous.

The food is super delicious and also very aromatic! I love Indian food and the culture so I tried this place out two years ago and it’s my go to do Indian food in Modesto. So good and comforting it will make your mouth water!

This is well worth visiting! Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Food was flavorful. Prices were relatively good. There is also comfortable seating. Most of the basic Indian foods were on the Menu. They also made truly mild dishes upon request. (Someone in our group isn't very spice tolerant.) I'm not giving it 5 stars because, while some of the portions were generous, some were surprisingly small. (e.g. very small beverage glasses for chai masala and lassi and some condiments were like a half teaspoon on a platter) That being said, due to expecting smaller portions, we ordered plenty and left full with plenty of leftovers. I did ding this establishment's atmosphere for a couple reasons: 1) It didn't look completely decorated. Lots of bare walls. Not much to accent the place. 2) The restroom's linoleum is coming up and wrinkling and it was out of toilet paper. 3) There was no music, just a video of the text of the Guru and a voice reading it. 4) There were trays of food prepped and sitting on tables waiting to be picked up or delivered. These are all subjective and culturally based. While there is plenty of seating, it feels like the majority of business is likely take

The food was sub par, not your typical indian flavours were present. We had Butter chicken, which lacked all the flavours you could think of and same went for the Pani puri, not youe typical indian style, more modernized, garlic Naan was overwhelmed with garlic to a point, all you could taste was garlic, but the best was for the last. The Bhindi masla and Lamb skeesh kabab saved the day. They do carry a variety of indian sweets too. I dont know if we would be going again, might be a hard pass on this place.... but to some extent some dishes were great.
